Who are we?
We are Lesley Garden and Michelle Rolfe, the duo behind Lost in Food. We have a passion for food and feeding people!
Why a Supperclub?
Simply because we love food and we love to cook for and feed others. There is real enjoyment watching people enjoy our food. Many followers have asked us “when are you going to open a restaurant!?” However, we wanted something a little bit different. We love to entertain in our own homes and wanted combine the two. Supperclubs have taken off recently in cities throughout the UK so why not here in Aberdeenshire.
What can I expect at your Supperclub?
Our evening begins around 7pm on a Friday night where we welcome 10 guests into Michelle’s home. We invite them to relax and mingle with the other guests as they arrive. Meanwhile we start finishing off the starters.
Everyone sits around the table, there is no seating plan. Sit with someone you know or someone new and start a conversation. This is a BYOB event, we will open any bottles of wine brought and leave these with you for the night to top up yourselves when you are ready.
An amuse bouche will be served to break the ice, a starting point of for conversation. From here, we will serve you a 3 course dinner. The menu is set a couple of weeks prior to the event and a full menu will be placed on at your table setting.
After dinner, we will serve teas and coffees with petit fours. At this point we will have a chance to casually chat to all our guests while we clear plates and clean down. We are open to chat about our food, what worked, maybe what didn’t quite work for you, and any ideas you have going forward, its how we learn what our guests enjoy.
As we host these events at Michelle’s family home we ask that any taxis or pick ups are arranged for 2230 and no later than 2245. This allows us to clean down and for family to gain access to their home again.
How can I book into a Supperclub?
Supperclub events are announced on Social Media, predominately Facebook and Instagram or you can email [email protected] to get on our waiting list for future events.
How much does it cost?
We are a small business and as such we try our best to work with local suppliers where possible. Our current rate for the Supperclub is £35 per head plus a £1 booking fee (Paypal charge £1 for receiving payment). On the night we charge £5 per head for corkage for anyone drinking alcohol.
Is there only one menu choice? What if I have an allergy or intolerance?
We are a small business and work from our own domestic kitchens. Both our kitchens have been fully certified by the local Food Standards Council in Aberdeenshire to serve food to the public. However, we are unable to ensure that foods are clear from cross contamination as we cook regularly with dairy, nuts, gluten and seafood. At this time we are only able to offer one menu choice without substitutions. We are however planning events that will cater for many different tastes in the future so hopefully one such event will suit you.
